About Charley Jones

Charley Jones is a Dallas/Fort Worth icon in conservative talk radio. A native Texan, he has been a cornerstone of the Dallas/Fort Worth radio market for over 40 years. Passionate about the American Revolution, world history, and global affairs, Charley majored in History at the University of Texas Arlington before launching his career at KZEW-FM, The Zoo, a premier rock station in Dallas, Texas.

A Storied Radio Career

In 1980, Charley met Janel, the music director at KZEW-FM, who became his wife. For nearly four decades, they’ve shared a love for radio, world travel, and raising their two outstanding children. At KOAI-FM, The Oasis in Dallas, Charley served as news director and Janel as music director, both hosting top-rated shows.

From 1992 to 2017, Charley hosted Texas Overnight on various stations for 25 years. He later produced Charley Jones America (2017–2023) and Charley Jones at Night (2017–2023). His work as a political commentator for CBS Television and the BBC earned him widespread recognition, along with the Vivian Castleberry Award from the Association for Women Journalists.
